What chocolate is used?

Our custom chocolate pieces are made from delicious Guittard chocolate.

How does the image get on the chocolate?

Well, that's a secret; but we can tell you that we use 100% pure, tasteless, edible inks in our process. Unlike other methods that use rice or wafer paper placed directly on the chocolate, our process transfers only the image to the chocolate...it tastes better.

What type of image can be printed on the chocolate?

Any picture, logo or text can be printed. We will work with you to design an image that works best on your chocolate. If you provide an image that we believe will not meet your expectation, we will contact you to request an alternate image.

You can provide your image to us in several ways:

  • You may attach your digital image while placing your order.
  • After your order is placed, you may upload an alternate digital image to us by requesting "Update Order" on the My Order page.
  • You may mail hard copy photos, business cards or logos to us for scanning. We cannot guarantee that the items you send us will be returned. You may mail your images to:

When mailing, please remember to include your email address and Order Number.

Digital image formats that we can accept include: .bmp, .eps, .gif, .jpg, .pct, .pcx, .pic, .png, .psp and .tif. Please insure that your uploaded image file uses one of these formats as the file extension. Files with other extensions (e.g. .exe, .zip, .rar) cannot be uploaded.

We cannot accept copyrighted images without permission from the owner. For example, without permission we cannot print professional sports logos, corporate logos, Disney characters, copyrighted photographs or copyrighted clip art.

There are a few things to keep in mind when selecting an image:

  • Choose images with high contrast between the foreground and background. A blue sweater on a blue background is unlikely to show up well on the chocolate.
  • We cannot guarantee that the colors of your image will be reproduced accurately.
  • Large images or images with a lot of detail may lose some detail when reduced to fit on the chocolate.

Can I get a sample or see what my items will look like before I order?

We can email you a digital image of your item for approval upon request. If you would like to sample our chocolate before making a purchase of a customized item, you may purchase an item from the Express Chocolates category.

Please contact us for orders over 500 pieces and we will work with you to insure your satisfaction prior to purchasing.

Were can you ship chocolate?

We will ship anywhere within the United States. Orders are shipped with a signature release, so, if the recipient is not home, the package will be left at the door. If a signature is required, please make your request when the order is placed. Due to the perishable nature of our product, we do not ship to P.O. Boxes.

How long will it take to receive my chocolate?

Please allow 1-2 weeks for us to process your order. If a rush order is desired, please note this when placing your order or contact us at info@prints-on-chocolate.com and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Can you ship in hot weather?

In order to assure that you receive the best possible quality and to prevent the chocolates from melting in transit, we only ship 2-day USPS Priority Mail or USPS Express Mail. During warm weather, we highly recommend you select USPS Express Mail at checkout. We do not guarantee chocolates if 2-day USPS Priority Mail is selected. When necessary, we will ship the chocolates using a special insulated cold pack. If possible, try to arrange to have your chocolate delivered to an air conditioned location, such as a business, where someone is able to receive your package.

Can I change or cancel my order once it is placed?

Once you place your order, you will receive email updates identifying the status of your order throughout the production process. You may also check the status of your order from the My Order page. The following table lists the status types indicating when an order can be changed or cancelled:

*Your credit card will be authorized for the amount of your purchase at the time you place your order. Your credit card will not be charged until your order is in the "Pre-production" status.

How can I track the status of my order?

You will receive email updates identifying the status of your order throughout the production process. You may also check the status of your order from the My Order page. When your package ships we will send you an e-mail notification including the tracking number of your shipment. You can track the status of your shipment from the My Order page.

How long will the chocolate last?

Chocolate is best stored at cool room temperatures (60-70°F), well wrapped to keep moisture out, and away from highly scented foods or aromatic products that might be absorbed by the chocolate. Under these conditions the chocolate should last nine to twelve months.

Chocolate is a stable product that does not require refrigeration. Ideally, it should not be refrigerated as this will change the appearance of the chocolate. Specifically, the condensation that forms when it is taken from the refrigerator or freezer may damage the image on the chocolate's surface.

What if I am not satisfied with my chocolate?

We believe that the chocolates shipped to you will be the best possible quality. Unless an error was made on our part, no refunds will be given as these personalized gifts can not be resold.

How private is the information I provide:

We do not automatically collect personal information about you when you visit our site. We only collect information under the following circumstances:

1. Site Traffic Information - In order to analyze site traffic and improve this site, we track the path our visitors take when navigating the various pages of this site. This tracking does not reveal anything to us about you personally, but it assists us in improving our site to make your online experiences the best they can be.

2. Personal Information - We collect personal information from you under the following circumstances:

  • When you go through checkout and make a purchase.

A "cookie" is a small text file that is stored on your hard drive when you use the site. A cookie does not contain any personal information about you but does identify your specific computer. When you return to our website, the cookie associates your computer with the information we are storing at your request from previous visits. These "digital cookies" are not to be confused with the delicious cookies found on our site for purchase and joyful consumption.

What payment methods may I use?
